Bluebeard Beach Club

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

Bluebeard Beach Club sits on 23 beachfront acres on St. Thomas’ upscale south-central coast at French Bay. Long operated by Wyndham Vacation Resorts as a favorite guest destination within their portfolio, the facility was fully devastated by Hurricane Irma’s Category 5 storm force winds in September 2017. A complete rebuild of the entire campus and all of its supporting infrastructure has commenced, including many newly designed facilities.

Newly designed guest facilities include a new Check-in building, Restaurant, and ADA / Presidential Suites building, Market and Water-sports building, and several other smaller structures. Starting with bare interior masonry walls, the existing 74 guest units have been reconstituted to provide an even better guest experience than before the hurricane.

A significant design effort has also been invested in providing more robust resistance and resilience in the unseen but critical infrastructures related to providing water, sanitary, electrical, and fire protection throughout the resort.  This has also included a diverse range of utilitarian support structures from a new water tank and new main electrical service building to a new Operations Building providing staff support.
