Retrofit of Existing Abandoned Facility for new Distillery

Being a tropical environment, the Virgin Islands community and its Department of Health face serious public health challenges and the potential of having to deal with unique diseases.    The GermFree Laboratory project provided a prefabricated modularized clean-room environment for Public Health testing.   Set in proximity to other Health Department facilities, the site presented significant utility equipment placement and connection challenges, security-related challenges, as well as the need for the installation of robust stormwater management infrastructure.  Beyond the newly stacked 2-stories of clean room modules with interconnected stairs and walkways, the 1-acre site also needed to accommodate a number of supplemental mobile trailers serving the needs of the Health Department
